What's the best/easiest way to sell a car?

Here's the deal. I live in Dallas and I've got a 1996 Explorer XLT that I have decided to sell. It's been a great ride and it's got fairly low mileage for it's age. It's also never been in the shop. I just don't really need it anymore.

So, what is the best way to sell it? I realize that the quickest way might not bring the most money, but I really would like to sell it sooner rather than later. I guess I'm looking for a balance between ease/quickness and sale price.

Thanks for the help.

The quickest way would be to go sell it to one of the area's used car dealerships, like Autonation USA (at least I think they are still around) or CarMax.

They won't give you as much money as someone might if you do the whole newspaper ad, sell it yourself, deal. But you will get rid of the car much quicker and easier.

I sold a 98 tahoe with a combination of advertising in the local paper and autotrader. Got a good price too.

You should go get an offer from CarMax. It is free and valid for a week or 300 miles. This will be a good starting point and you have a offer right off the bat.

CM in Dallas bought my Avalanche (less than a year old) for over KBB. Not saying it is that good every time, but i had a good experience there. After i decided to sell it to them, the paper work was not that bad and the whole thing took about an hour.

try craigslist.com people will buy just about anything on that site

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. There is a CarMax fairly close to my house, so maybe I should just run it by them and see what they offer for starters.
