What Was I thinking

To start a conversation with an Aggie about the LHN. I have two die hard Aggies in my office and they are the kind who only accept Aggie logic so long as it favors them. I also started a conversation with a Aggie friend about the state of the Aggie Program.

Was I an idiot. I forget how winning can throw logic out the window and the chest pounding "we beat you last year" comes into effect. All I wanted to know was an opinion as to what the LHN really is. And I wanted to know what the expecting to be great would really be like. Instead I got a whirlwind of "If you guys don't want us in the Big 12" and "Why do Longhorns care if we go to the SEC so much".

I am a level headed longhorn and can speak on a neutral level with others during the good and the bad but man.... I guess the LHN & SEC store lines really run deep with the nerves of Aggies.

I would love for Texas to be in the SEC. It would mean great games just about every week aside from the cream puffs. It would make for great football and difficult national championships but I would enjoy every game. I guess I am ranting to much because this is a two way street where Longhorns and Aggies let their passions for their schools eliminate logic and reason.

God I love football Season!!!! GO HORNS!!!!

I totally took the bait at a party and got ambushed by two aggies. I wasnt prepared at all for the lunacy so I just sat there and listened and agreed and I think they left confident the creamated me in the debate.

I will be more prepared next time.

I find it interesting that, one on one, I can have a normal discussion about anything with pretty much any Aggie. But the moment another one of them joins in, sanity goes out the window. It's as if they have to demonstrate which one is more aggy than the other. It reminds me that the IQ of a mob is equal to the lowest IQ in the mob divided by the number of people in the mob.

I would probably rather be in the SEC than remain in a crumbling Big 12. It has nothing to do with the possible departure of aggy. It has to do with caliber of competition. The other alternative would be to bolster the Big 12 with new teams such as TCU, Notre Dame, etc . . .But, given the choice of the Pac 12 or SEC, I'd take the SEC. Just a personal opinion.
