What type of glue?

Sorry for this simpleton question, but I was born without the Home Depot gene. The rubber weather-stripping surrounding the rear hatch area of my SUV has come loose. It's not deteriorated that I can see, nor torn, but no longer firmly attached to the lower portion of the hatch opening where my dogs jump in and out and where I load and unload stuff. The other 3/4 (both sides and the top portion) are still firmly glued to metal. What is the best type of glue to re-affix the stripping back to the metal?

Doc, you can purchase "weatherstripping adhesive" at any Autozone, Napa, Pep Boys, etc.

That's what you need.

Edit: here's the "O'Reilly's" webpageThe Link

They carry Permatex brand. You will find 3M at about anywhere else.

And this stuff is sticky, so after doing the repair, wash your hands before you tend to anybody's vag.

Yeah, 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive is the proper product.
But be very careful, it is sticky stuff, and it won't come off your hands just by washing them. You might wear disposable gloves, and cautiously spray a small amount on a piece of cardboard and apply it with a cheap paint brush. It is hard to get off the car, the weatherstrip that won't be glued down, the carpet, the dog, the kids, etc. But it works well for the intended application.

Thanks to all, but especially to Will for keeping me out of trouble with the California Medical Board ("And this stuff is sticky, so after doing the repair, wash your hands before you tend to anybody's vag.").

Well, one thing is for sure...I should use this stuff to glue the anterior wall of OctoMom's uterus to its posterior wall.
