I wanted to start a thread like this a while back, but I just haven't had time. Seeing Wulaw Horn's post(s) got my juices going again. All times are CST. Not all the games I list will be on tv. What I list will be games of interest to me.
Top 25
6 pm - #5 UConn at #22 WVU: Another battle in the Big East. WVU has Ruoff back and WVU has had two solid games in a row (Ohio St. and Seton Hall). UConn is coming off the loss to Georgetown and a win against Rutgers. Stanley Robinson has now been inserted into the starting lineup and should change things up for UConn.
6 pm - Ohio St. @ #12 Michigan State: Led by Evan Turner, Ohio St. has been struggling of late. After an embarrassing loss at home to WVU, Ohio St. has gone 1-1 over the last two games. So far, heralded freshman, BJ Mullens has been a disappointment. A loss to State and Ohio St. falls to 1-2 in Big 10 play. Michigan St. has been playing very well since upsetting Texas in Houston. They are tied for first in Big 10 play with Wisconsin and are starting to hit their stride at just the right time.
8:05 pm - #7 Texas @ Arkansas: Coming into the season, one wouldn't have thought this game would be that much of a test for the Horns after Arkansas lost Beverly to academics. With Weems and Hill gone, Arkansas was thought to be rebuilding. Things change. Coming off an upset victory over OU, Arkansas is becoming a player again and will be a team to watch in the SEC. Michael Washington has been on an absolute tear recently, averaging a double-double for the season. Freshman guard, Courtney Fortson has also been a great asset to the squad. These two will have to have big games if they want to upset another Big 12 team.
Other Games of Interest
6 pm - Bucknell @ Cornell - Cornell will start their bid to go undefeated in Ivy League play for the second year in a row. Cornell has one of the best shooters in the country in Ryan Whittman, son of recently fired T-Wolves coach, Randy Whittman. Cornell brings back 4 of their 5 starters and should repeat as Ivy League champion. Their tough NC slate should easily prepare them for conference play.
6 pm - Miami (OH) @ Dayton: I fell in love with the Redhawks after watching their gritty performance against UCLA early in the season. Michael Bramos and company can play with anyone in the country.
6 pm - Rhode Island @ Toldeo: Another one if the country's best shooters plays for Rhode Island - Jimmy Baron, son of the coach. Baron's performance @ Duke early in the season was one of the best shooting performances I have seen on the college level. His fall-away, bomb from the corner over Kyle Singler was straight sick. Baron's range extends past 25 ft and he doesn't hesitate to pull the trigger. Another player to watch for the Rams is Delroy James. Very heady player.
8:30 pm - Western Oregon @ BYU: How will BYU respond after Wake came to Provo and snapped their 53 game home winning streak? Expect a beat down by BYU.
Please feel free to add games to this list. Any feedback related to my post would be appreciated as well. I will try to do this thread daily, where warranted. However, this plan might be easier said than done. Regardless, I will give it a shot!
