So my girlfriend office got closed today and she is out of a job as of friday. I already sent her flowers earlier this week for another occasion and bought icecream last week because she was having a rough day. What could i bring home tonight to put a little cheer back in her?

couple of bottles of good wine and some NO SEX AT ALL should do the trick. cook some salmon on the grill on a cedar plank, cous cous, and some fresh asparagus for dinner. all of that is easy and cheap.

Yes, and offer to loan her some money to help her get by . . .

Rent her some feel good movies like The Pursuit of Happiness and Office Space.

Offer to make her some signs to hold up at intersections, and drop her off and pick her up yourself. She will appreciate the personal interest in her situation.

Listen well, don't offer unsolicited advice. Most women want to vent to us men, they don't want suggestions, they are mostly already ahead of us on that, UNLESS, they actually ask, What am I to do? Just being there and offering a shoulder, so to speak, isn't such a bad move.

If you actually have some constructive advice, be VERY careful in delivering it, as in "honey, I don't want to invade your space, but have you thought of "XXXXX".

holy hangover batman! Well i did what the last poster said by default. I knew to just sit there and let her vent....which we did for many rounds. We went to a bar and i did patron shots which i sweared away 15 years ago! We are going to have a nice dinner this weekend but last night she just wanted to drink and talk. It was actually really nice. she is a great girl and it has never been so easy to be around someone. I really didnt need to worry about what to do. we had a great time.

Damn work is goiing to suck today. Thanks for the ideas though. Im going to keep them all in mind fro the next occasion.

PS we had lots of the NO CHEER AT ALL!!
