What Deez said. There's a system in place, and it must be followed. This whole thing is tragic beyond words, so many families, including his, have been crushed.

Have any of you guys fought in Afghanistan?

Not condoning what happened, but if you've ever been in a war, you experience incomprehinsable acts of violence and slaughter. It's not normal to kill other human beings and to see your buddies get killed and for what? The guy snapped.

None of you guys know what you would or wouldn't do unless you've fought in a war and experienced it first hand. I'm sure some of folks have a brother or relative that have fought in a war and I'm sure they don't like to talk about it. I've had a cousin and brother who've done 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, amazingly they are alive.

The OP bolded that he was on his 4th tour of duty. And folks wonder why someone would snap like that. War is hell, that's why.
