W wolfman 1,000+ Posts Aug 8, 2008 #1 Im in Raleigh-Durham for work for 6 weeks and wondering if anyone knows of some interesting things to do in the area. I already plan to do a couple of weekends in DC and Charleston but Im looking for local ideas.
Im in Raleigh-Durham for work for 6 weeks and wondering if anyone knows of some interesting things to do in the area. I already plan to do a couple of weekends in DC and Charleston but Im looking for local ideas.
SabreHorn 10,000+ Posts Sponsor Aug 9, 2008 #2 1) Drive over to Ashville and visit Biltmore, maybe run up thru the mountains and/or over to Gatlinburg/Pidgeon Forge. 2) Visit Charlotte 3) If you're tinking about Charleston, consider Myrtle Beach 3) C'ville - UVA. Montecello, and Monroe & Madison's homes. 4) Weekend at The Greenbriar or Homestead (particularly if you golf). 5) If all else fails, visit Duke after school starts and scope out "the babes". Duke ususally gets 2 or 3 decent looking ladies per incoming class. 6) If you want furniture, visit High Point 7) Tour the NC State Capitol and then thank God for Texas and its grandeur.

T txangel03 25+ Posts Aug 11, 2008 #4 UNC's first football game is on the 30th. Apparently tickets are dirt cheap, and the stadium's pretty. I just realized I go to a school where the nicest thing I can think of to say about the football team is that the stadium's pretty.
