What to do Friday night

I don't go out a lot and this Friday we are going out for my birthday but don't really know where to go. I'm 28 don't want to go to 6th street or a club. We do want to stay in the downtown area. I've been to Six once and I liked it. Looking for a cool bar where some single girls can hang out and have a good time. Would love to end up close the Onion at the end of the night.
