I like this one from Northwestern Mutual

I like the way the drum kit mixes in with the orchestra and also the way the piano finishes it off.

I wish the Longhorn band would make a marching arrangement for it.

Then & Now -100 years of Chevrolet commercial with Ray Charles singing "America the Beautiful"

I thought the guitar solo and vocal chorus from the Bob Seger song "Like a Rock."was very well-used on those Chevy truck commercials.

The Link

Seger wrote and sang the song with The Silver Bullet Band and guest guitarist Rick Vito played the solo on the original album track and that sure sounds like them on the commercial too..

Segar performed it live the last time he played Austin, but I didnt recognize Vito on stage.

Of course, the slogan "Like a Rock" was used by Chevy also.

I really liked the song long before the TV ad came out and recognized his slide guitar work as masterful even though most of us eventually experienced that commercial beyond what we could stand.

That's how commercials are supposed to work. isn't it?

BTW, I thought Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" was equally memorable as the sonic attention-grabbing opening for the movie "Blackboard Jungle."

It was also part of the coming attractions "commercial" shown in movie houses advertising this fkick was coming soon to a theater near you.

I can't remember any music in commercials being more effective on me.

There was a Saturn commercial the used SRV's Crossfire. It was the workers on the assembly line working and playing air guitar. Been looking for it for a while but I can find it.

I've noticed a couple of commercials recently featuring Bobby Blue Bland's Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City. An underrated, classic R&B track.
