What leaves turds like a dried-up earthworm?

Found what I assume is a turd that looks like a dried up worm in the house - one yesterday and one today. Haven't seen them before, and we don't really have any other evidence of rodents/pests. What leaves these? Roaches? I live in SoCal if that means anything.

if it appears to be dirt and breaks easily, they might be termites this is a big guess

How large of a worm, where in the house? Floor or counter top?

I don't think it would be termites if it's on the floor or counter. They usually don't leave the wood. Try calling an exterminator and see if they know off hand or maybe they can send someone out.

Termite "frass" wouldn't just be out in the middle of the room, or whatever, it would be imbedded in the wood.

Probably something else.
