Same here with Ebert. I usually agree very closely with his reviews (did NOT agree with him on "Children of Men", but eh) but didn't expect his journal to be so good.
I like the SciGuy -- Eric Berger -- at the Houston Chronicle website-- i surf and, while he doesnt, he is nonetheless terrific with long range weather forecasts for our area-- along with alot of other techno and science stuff
For politics and news, I like James Taranto of the WSJ -- it's sort of a daily column/blog combo -- but he is the clearest, most logical writer out there in this genre -- and he brings it every weekday -- with a healthy sense of humor (incldng lots of sarcasm)
Most mornings, I also look at G-town Surf. Every day they post a new series of 6-8 fotos taken that morning at or around sunrise from Galveston. Terrific free service performed by Billy & Ruthi (they also have rental units if you are looking)
I don't know if this is actually a "blog" but it is a favorite web site. Post Secret. People send in postcards with anonymous secrets on them. They are posted once a week. postsecret
I think it's particularly interesting to me since I was a psychologist.
