What is this 'Wooo' sound in NO/SA game?

Hornets owner George Shinn is good friends with Ric Flair (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpDMzj1tc44&feature=related). The sound got brought with the team from Charlotte and was originally done for Baron Davis, but has been done for Chris Paul since Baron left and CP3 arrived.

Between the boo's and the woo's I have to watch with the damn sound low. I don't really care for either team (both are clearly good teams, I just don't like them) but the NO fans are bugging the crap out of me. Glad it is now going to SA.

As the Nature Boy says, "Like it or don't like, but learn to love it. Cause it's the best thing going on today! WOOOOOOOO!!!"

WWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Extremely bush league and lame. ******* annoying as well. You trumpet the scoring of one guy on your team? I'm sure his teammates LOVE it.

but it annoys me watching on tv and I am far more important than home town fans. [that is a joke] I actually got more annoyed by the booing everytime certain of the Spurs touched the ball (maybe Duncan, Ginobli and Bowen)? They were the same way in the Mavs series--I think they booed Dirk and Terry or maybe Stack in that one. It is annoying and makes me wish another hurricane would take that town out. Perhaps I have anger issues.

No, of course you didn't mean that you would want another horrific natural disaster to kill another 1,000 people and destroy a city just to stop some fans who boo an opposing team. I just don't know what you were trying to accomplish with your comment. If it was a joke, it definitely was not funny.

I think the first WOOO is okay, the second WOOOO is excessive and annoying. I think the fans in New Orleans are trying to figure out what they are supposed to do at a basketball game. I have never seen people boo when the other team has the ball - not in college or the pros. They are all used to Saints games in the Superdome.

It actually relates to the Spurs game where Bowen tried to knee CP3 in the head. It was late in the third quarter and the game was very close. After that the crowd booed on every Spurs possession and it seemed to rattle them (the Hornets won going away). They did it against somebody else (can't remember who) after a hard foul, just booed the entire game, and had the same result. Now they do it every game. Not saying it's a good or bad thing, just explaining why they do it.

I tell you what's annoying, is that ******* Day-o canned sound on defense. Everyone who talked trash about the Nature's Boy's WOOOOOOO should die a painful death. The guy who said, "yeah, let's take that daylight come and me wanna go home banana song and make it a defensive chant" should die a worse death.

I think the woo is genius. If I'm a few beers deep at a game, and I get let out "woooo!" every time some guy on my team scored,.... I mean what more can you ask for as a fan?

Spurs fans, it would be like if at your home games they played Nelson Muntz's "Ha, ha!" after a foul was called based on a Ginobili, Bowen, or Oberta flop. You guys would love it!
