I own a cell phone that I rarely use. The last thing I need is internet access 24/7 or I would be an addict for sure. One of the nice things about driving up and back to the Wyoming game was being totally out of contact for long stretches of time. Just music, the road and me.

I really don't care that I've gotten use to mine, it's damned ******* handy. Most recently, I drove down to the Bullock to try and get a seat for Avatar on the Imax, about to pull into the garage, and there's a big yellow sign explaining that all shows are sold out for the day. I pull over to the side, and in a few moments I find a suitable location with a showing starting in half an hour.

Yea sure, some due diligence and planning could have prevented the scenario, but it's nice to be able to wing it when I decide on doing something.

I left the house for approx. 2-3 hours once and realized it about 15 mins. into my trip. At first it was really hard, but then I started thinking of how dependent we are on our cell phones and thought how I used to not even have a cell phone (I'm 45) and everything worked out all right. It was wierd though.
