What is the consensus on the future of our fight s

Will we remove the aggie reference?

I'm not asking about reacting now in the moment. But as years pass, and the lack of conference coexistence continues to lower the competitive juices, won't aggie presence in our fight song become irrelevant?

There are students right now who will graduate having never gone to a T+1 game as a student.

The move from T+1 to T does cut down on attendance and noise a bit since there just simply aren't enough students in town to fill the section. It's annoying for a lot of people with family traditions too.

As for the fight song, I doubt we change it, hardly anybody sings the verses anyway, mostly just the give 'em hell chant (which is then altered half the time anyway) and maybe the bridge if the band has time to play it.

"goodbye to a&m" is appropriate and not a big deal, in my opinion.
Now if we were like them and the entire song was dedicated to Aggy then I would want to change it.

i guess we still use antiquated language in our national songs. we'll just have to teach our grandchildren what this means.

"you see kids...back in the day there was a school named texas a&m who had the state's junior varsity football team..."
