What has happened to women's TF

How far have we fallen? aTm has zoomed past us in softball, swimming and T&F.

Oh well, I guess we did finish ahead of Rice.

aggy is dominating us in womes sports except for soccer, tennis and volleyball. Plonsky better wake up its not a one school game in womens sports in Texas any more.

The track women keep leaving and turning pro, including a freshman just after the indoor championships. I think Plonsky hired a new basketball coach, though I could be talking out of my ***

Knight left Texas mid spring semester and turned pro. Texas was also without Destinee Hooker defending high jumper. Both of these athletes would account for about 24-28 points. Knight would have scored individually and on relays. Texas likely would have finished 6th or 7th overall. Still 5 points for Texas in this meet is pretty dismal.

Swimming will be back in the top 10 in 2009 and possibly competing for a championship by 2010. I firmly believe our women's hoops program is on the right track but coach G needs to get a couple of the top recruits in the 09 class to put the team back on the "map".

The aggroid women will likely continue dominance in track, softball & golf in the immediate future. I believe the tide is turning in soccer & swimming towards Texas. Tennis has held a slight edge and that should continue. Texas volleyball will continue thumping a&m and SHOULD be a final 4 team this fall.

The days of relying on 1 or 2 stellar athletes in women's track have long been over. You need a full slate of well rounded athletes to get it done. It may take 3-5 years to catch up the way it looks now.

Swimming will be fine because Texas did what Texas does best. They went out and hand-picked the best possible coach for women's swimming. And she just signed the #1 recruiting class in the nation.

I think we are going to see a similar thing in softball pretty soon if Connie Clark can't get things turned around. We already saw it in women's hoops, and Goestenkors will have her team regularly winning the Big 12 very soon. Her reputation is enough to get SOME top recruits, but most of them are going to need to see success before they buy into the Texas program the way they bought into the Duke program. But it will happen.

It is dissapointing that TEXAS finished 46 with only 5 points, BUT there are many factors that contributed to that.

First, Hooker is missing from the outdoor season because of her volleyball commitments. Second, Bianca Knight leaves mid season to turn pro...I mean...who does that? Not even Sanya Richards did that!!! And we all know what she can do. TEXAS would have had three athletes that could have put the team in the Top 10 where they usually are. Just three athletes!!!!!

Not one person from A&M left the team. Texas Tech has Sally who usually wins two events....that's 20 points already!!

If Bev is going to recruit world athletes, she needs to time the recruiting appropriately or we are going to continue having this trend....we will win a national championship and then finish 46th.

I am not really sure what happened with the rest of the team not being good enough to make it to the NCAA, but Bev usually wins NC's with a small number of athletes and the timing was really bad with Hooker and Bianca.

I think Bev will be fine, but if the athletes at A&M don't leave....then I don't see how we are going to keep up with them when our athletes turn pro.

It is ok if you think I have it backwards.

A&M doesn't have any championships now, but they didn't have Pat Henry as coach.

Would you like to compare Bev and Pat Henry and see how many titles they have??? Go ahead!!!

Oh I see....only terrible coaches coach at A&M that is why Pat Henry hasn't done anything to improve their dismal track and field teams.

I definitely think he will continue the tradition of A&M being second to TEXAS.

I am glad A&M didn't see all those titles he won at LSU. They probably would have expected him to change things around at A&M.

I am sure Bev will take this yr's result and fight harder! This lady is a fighter!! Her story in itself says a lot about her, and she continues to rise to the top over and over without excuses.

Her re-building process will pretty much start immediately. The recruiting group will be headlined by another superstar (who even beat B. Knight in her event). Her announcement should be coming pretty soon.

LaKeidra Stewart is the real deal in the 100/200. We are also bringing in Alex Pegram, Stacy Ann Smith who will consistently be at the 11.xx/23.xx for the 100/200 as well.

Ashley Starks and Angele Cooper are suppose to be huge steals. They have good numbers in the 400 and hurdles but many feel they are diamond in the rough.

Brimmer has done a great job developing the field events. We bring in State champions in PV/Shot Put/HJ. V. Lucas is a premiere high jumper and will get only better w/ Destinee along her side.

Amthor is a steady middle distance/distance runner who i think will get better as years progress.

These recruits are gonna be nice pieces for us immediately and in the future. I am not sure if we're done recruiting yet either! Heard there could be one more added excluding our future superstar.

Not too sure, but Jasmine Lee and Alandra Sherman still has a yr of elligbility and could be back next yr too.
