What Has Happened To US Track Field

I can't recall a more dissapointing performance by the US Track Olympic Team. Swept in the Men's 100m. Both 4x100 teams drop the baton and are out. Nothing from long and high jump. There have been some good things like the men's sweep in the 400m, but the US has only 20 medals and the games are almost over. These athletes are not paid like major sports athletes, but they do get nice endorsement deals and are well compensated. My feeling is that the US team is not really a team. It's a group of individuals in this only for themselves and there's no comraderie. In fact, on NBC the announcers just alluded to the lack of leadership on this team. Is it the coaching, the athletes, or the overall program?

U.S. Track and Boxing need to take a look at what U.S.A. Swimming is doing as a National Governing Body. Swimming gets it, track and boxing do not.

This just in, wearing metal around your neck makes you weigh more and thus SLOWS YOU DOWN! It's the freaking Olympics people, not a hip hop dance party.

That dude just ran a freakin' fast 43.2 anchor leg to help the USA win the 4X400 Gold. He can wear all the bling he wants.

How is the Olympic record not the WR?

I know, I know....world championships or somesuch. But seriously. What are the odds.

Harvey Glance is easily one of the laziest coaches you'll find in the collegiate ranks. so i'm not sure how much effort he put in with our sprinters.

seriously, the guy show up for maybe half a day on the days he DOES work and it's always in order to get lunch on campus.

He's not the only problem mind you, but the fact that he's in such a high position shows you the leadership and abilities of the people above him. 4 years from now won't be any better imo
