What happened to the Hawaiian golfer girl?

What happened to that girl from Hawaii?

All I hear about is Ochoa and finally Paula Creamer (love that name) stopped her streak. But no mention of that other girl in months. Is she "concentrating on school" for a few years, before giving it another go?

the last interview i saw was a very sad interview after she had just withdrawn from a tournament because of her wrist. In the interview she was noticeably and understandably upset and stated something to the effect of "my wrist will never be the same again. That's what my doctor has said. My wrist will never be the same again."

this came after several injuries to the wrist. this also came after her pathetic excuse for coaches and guardians allowed/encouraged her to play injured and never allowed the injury to heal. No doubt that someone was trying to take advantage of this girl and get as much money as soon as possible. Truly a tragedy in my book. Similar to a little league coach teaching all his pitchers to perfect their curveball at too young of an age.

another story i saw was about she and the stanford basketball player dating. they didn't mention much about her in that interview.

She WAS at stanford. I say was because she dropped out at the end of their winter quarter in mid-March. She got sponsors exemptions to the Safeway international and michelob ultra open on the LPGA tour. She announced on March 21 she wasn't going to be playing in the Safeway because of wrist issues.

SHe also played in the Fields Open in Hwaii in Jan and shot 69-73-78 to make the cut, but tie for 72nd.

More importantly, it is reported that she was dating Brooke Lopez while at Stanford.

I hate to say it, but I knew from the very first time we saw her dad that he was going to absolutely ruin this girl. Great job *******!! You phooked up the female talent equivalent to Tiger Woods before she ever had a freaking chance.

The thing about her is that she never learned how to win. Golf is such a mental game that you need to learn how to think properly.

Ok, before everyone starts calling her the biggest bust since Ryan Leaf, lets hold our horses here. She isn't even legally allowed to drink alcohol yet, and she's a bust? If any of you have played competitive golf, you know how difficult it is and how little the margin of error is between wnning and making a cut. I'm not saying she is going to be the LPGA equal of Tiger woods, but I do think she will find her head and her game again and will be a very good player.

Unfortunately, ridiculous expectations have been put on her since she was little, so anything short of record shattering will be a bust. Sad, but true.

capriati - didn't she win her grand slams after her comeback in her twenties? at first, when she was a teen, she didn't fare all that well except here and there, then got into drugs and disappeared from the circuit, IIRC. then straightened up, matured, and came back to tennis and won her big titles. this could still happen with michelle. she needs proper guidance and perspective.
