what gets out pet odors of carpet?

every product on the shelf says it's tough on odors and gets the odors out, but they don't.

what i need to know is....what WORKS. my cat pissed all over carpet and marked the couches before i fixed the problem. any tried and true remedies?

Is it a male cat? They get horny and shoot their cum, or lets just say that they are marking their territory. It smells like ammonia. I try and look for the marks and use Woollite pet stain. And then later throw down carpet fresh pet odor and let it stand for about 10 minutes and then vac.

If you cant find the stain, just try and follow the scent and Febreeze the **** out of that area

Nature's Miracle will absolutely get the odors, but only if you get all of the bad area dampened by the product. This can be hard to do if the cat urine has penetrated the upholstery of a couch, chair or carpet. You can buy a black light at pet stores, or any other place, and the black light will reveal the location of the urine, which is flourescent.
Then you have to keep the cat(s) out of the area where they have decided to use the furniture to mark territory, or cover the furniture with plastic garbage bags when you go out, or put the cat in the plastic garbage bag.

One more thing-once the scent is in the affected area, if you do not get all of it out, the cats will continue to use it for that purpose. You may have to get rid of the cushion, couch, chair, or rug to cure the problem. Pets can be expensive.

Nature's Miracle is great stuff but I'm not sure it will get out "set" stains and odors. It's great for initial clean-up because it gets almost anything out and supposedly removes the odors that keep bringing back dogs and cats to the same spot.
