what does gotleib think of balbay?

He thinks he's totally unathletic and the fact he can't score really hinders his game.

On one hand, Dogus is probably having the best game of his UT career tonight.

On the other, Gottlieb seems to be Gottlieb's biggest fan. He also appears to see a bit of himself in Dogus, which might account for some of Gottlieb's effusiveness.

The comparisons between Gottleib and Balbay begin and end on the offensive end of the floor.

Gottleib never defended on-the-ball or away from it like Dogus does every night.

I thought Gottlieb was very professional and fair in his assessments of the game. Here he was part of a broadcast team of a game his alma mater is involved in and on top of that an emotional game dedicated to a tragic event that was close to him. He also spoke as an OSU alum at halftime.
But in all of this, I thought he was professional in his commentary.

I find it very unprofessional to use yourself as a mark for measuring players you are covering at a sporting event. Anytime I hear an ex-jock announcer seriously using himself as a reference I think it's amateur night in Dixie.

Vain.

I agree the comparison of Balbay to himself is spot on. I don't think he was doing to talk about himself so much as to point out how a player without a jumpshot can still contribute to the teams success.
It wasn't like Gottlieb was comparing himself to Durant.
