What do you think of Pittsburgh?

Never been there, not planning to visit or anything, but what a beautiful skyline. Anyone live there? What's it like? Your typical East coast city? Liberal? Conservative? How's the food?

I have a friend that's a pilot and he said Pittsburgh had the greatest difference of scenery from the air vs. the ground.

It looks beautiful from the air. Lots of hills, trees, and the river. At ground level it's the suck.

Pittsburg is not a midwestern city, hell Ohio isn't midwestern (like Iowa, Nebraska, Dakotas, Kansas, etc). Pittsburg and the Ohio cities have both a semi-east coast feel to them.

I'd say Ohio is Old School midwest, like from the industrial age, and Pittsburgh is a mix of that and traditional east coast.

I don't have an east coast feel when I'm in Ohio cities. Not in the slighest. Maybe about 50 yards of downtown Cleveland feels similar to east coast, but that's about it

I've been to Pittsburgh a couple of times and it was completely different than I expected. There is definitely a mix of east coast and midwest. Neighborhoods near Carnegie Mellon remind me of east coast and the suburbs remind me of midwest suburbs

Downtown area was pretty cool visually. I didn't spend much time doing anything downtown but by appearances it was interesting. Drive out of dowtown and it feels like your in the hills of Tenn. Trees, cliffs, rivers. Weird actually.

Pittsburgh also reminds me of midwest with all the closed factories and abandoned buildings. There are literally sq mile blocks of town that are deserted. That was also weird.

Pittsburgh can be pretty and ugly. There are some very beautiful hilly areas and then there is the industrial part. I found it pleasant. You have to go toThe Link for lunch or dinner.
