"ANN ARBOR -- Erik Swenson was the longest-tenured commitment in Michigan's 2016 recruiting class.

No longer.

Swenson tweeted Wednesday that he's reopening his commitment due to "unforeseen circumstances."

In a text message to MLive, the four-star offensive tackle said Michigan recently pulled its scholarship offer and canceled his previously scheduled official visit. He said the program did not provide a reason for doing so. He declined to speak further on the matter at this time.

Michigan cannot comment publicly on any unsigned prospects, per NCAA rule.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound Swenson -- from Downers Grove, Illinois -- committed to Michigan in 2013, when Brady Hoke was the program's head coach."

Well, at this point North Texas has plenty of OL slots left for the 2016 recruiting class. Not sure about the rest of the college programs.

This isn't quite as bad as what Gundy at OSU did a few years ago. He had committed recruits help convince other prospects to commit, then pulled offers from the early commits at the last minute. Even worse, a high school RB from Tennessee signed a letter of intent with Okie State, then wasn't allowed to enroll when he showed up in August. I remember the chatter at the time was that the Cowboys would have a hard time recruiting Texas, but I guess all is now forgiven.

This may be about as bad, Crockett. This guy is probably the first 2016 commit they had, and had stayed loyal to them even when Hoke was fired and many tried to jump ship. There are also reports that he said that he can't even talk to Harbaugh, as he is hiding (maybe having a sleepover at some recruits house, like he apparently does after 12 midnight - NCAA rules). Gosh. It sounds bad. But he is a 4-star. I am sure he will land somewhere good.

We may be too full at OL (especially at tackle, if I'm not mistaken), and may only pick somebody like a Hudson. I don't see us pursuing it.
