what brand of DVD Recorder do you own?

Does having a Hard Drive help?

Wife bought me an RCA combo VCR/DVD recorder for xmas. It's cooler than ****! It doesn't have the harddrive which would be a nice feature but cost quite a bit more. Lots of features. I got it in large part because of my extensive video tape collection of UT football games. They will now be saved for posterity on small convenient DVDs.

I have had a Panasonic with an 80 GB hard drive for about a year. It is probably right at the edge of your price range by now. I am very happy with it except the instructions are completely unintelligible so you have to teach yourself the features. I think a hard drive is essential.

I'll be interested to see if anyone has a Plextor drive? They get great reviews from where I've looked, which admittedly isn't everywhere.
