What are out bowl possibilities?

Honest question. I know it's hard to determine at this point considering there are three games to play.

The reason I ask is because I may be back in Texas during bowl season and would give a left nut to be able to attend a Texas Alamo or Cotton Bowl. I've only seen one game in person since Brown took over (UNC 2001) and I've love to be able to bring my 14 year-old daughter that loves UT as much as I do.

Anyway, can anyone surmise where we might end up if we go:

3-0
2-1
1-2
0-3

I would assume 3-0 puts us in the Cotton Bowl. Would 2-1 correspond to the Alamo Bowl? I'm just unclear as to how the seedings work.

the winner of us vs. A&M will be in line for the Alamo Bowl I'd imagine. If we do the unlikely and go 3-0, Cotton is ours.

Depends on Bedlam results and if OSU goes to BCS.

ESPN has weekly bowl projections.

Best case scenario is TX win out and OSU to BCS game Jan 8th.

IF and that is a big IF we win out and OSU goes 12-0, then probably:

OSU -MNC
OU - Cotton
KSU - Holiday
UT - Alamo

AGGY - get the Stay at Home and Wonder Why We Choked Bowl

Big 12 will almost certainly get 2 BCS teams, and those have to be OSU and OU, unless OU were to lose twice.

Worst case scenario, I think we're Texas Bowl bound at 6-6. They'd love us at that point.

If we're 7-5, it'll be a tossup between the Texas Bowl and Insight Bowl.

8-4: Holiday.
9-3: Alamo.

If we win out, I still think OU gets shafted and sent to Cotton with a loss to OSU. Bama, Houston, Stanford, and the loser of the ACC Championship should have the inside track.

Our best bet is that OU beats OSU. OU goes to Fiesta and OSU gets an at-large to Orange or Sugar. Then we might sneak into Cotton if we win out. I'd love for this to happen (especially so that we can play Arkansas or Georgia), but right now I'm thinking Holiday is our game. They practically love us in San Diego.

Predict 4 - 5 in conference ----> either 6th or 7th in conference ------> Meineke (Houston, 12/31/11, Reliant, vs Big 10) or Pinstripe (NYC, 12/30/11... Yankee Stadium, vs Big East) bowl.

Bowl list and affiliations: Bowls

The non bcs bowls can invite their choice of teams. Alamo Bowl has first choice of the PAC and if Stanford does not get a BCS bid they will be in the Alamo Bowl. I think if we beat State and any other win Cotton. A State loss and two wins Alamo and maybe even only one win.
I am convinced if we do not get Cotton and win at least one we will go to Alamo vs Stanford.

Contrary to what has been implied on this thread and elsewhere, the Insight Bowl picks ahead of the Holiday Bowl.

"Following is the Big 12's selection order:
BCS - Tostitos Fiesta
AT&T Cotton (SEC)
Valero Alamo (Pac-10)
Insight (Big Ten)
Bridgepoint Holiday (Pac-10)
Texas (Big Ten)
New Era Pinstripe (Big East)"

The bowls also aren't bound to pick the #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7 teams in that order. So while the Insight picks ahead of Holiday, the conference has probably already made deals with each of the bowls for "favorable" matchups. Like, "you can take KSU, MU, ISU, KU, Baylor, or Tech if they're still available with your bowl pick, unless Texas, OU, OSU, or A&M has fallen to 6-6, in which case you can nab them."

6-6 and any bowl is a slight improvement over last year. Worry about which bowl we get next year if we can get some decent qb and oline play. The defense next year will very good. Offense is going to be suspect until Harsin developes a passing game.

Agree with Johnny Yuma. The extra practice time is more important than the bowl game itself this year.

Since we've endured months of aggie-in-love-with-sec and all that can mean or might mean... as if it's a veiled pissing contest with Texas (pretend it's only about the Big 12)....

Quote from Eric Graves who chairs the Holiday Bowl (article in today's Statesman by Kirk Bohls)... their bowl staff will attend this Sat's game with Kansas State here in Austin. He said this..."Everybody on our committee thinks somebody else will grab Texas before they get to us, but I still content that if there's any way to get the Horns, you take 'em."
