What a last 30 seconds in OT for Blazers/Rockets

LaMarcus makes two FT's to tie (avenging two missed couple minutes earlier); Brandon Roy beats Artest down the court and hits turnaround J for 2-pt lead.

What appears to be Rockets last chance, Yao, of all people hits turnaround J with 2 on him to tie, PLUS the "and one" because Bennett Salvatore called a phantom foul. But Yao is automatic and hits it for a one point lead with 0.8 seconds left.

Brandon Roy gets the inbounds pass and hit what had to be a 30+ foot rainbow that hit nothing but net for the 2 point win at the buzzer. Wow, just wow.

As a non Rocket fan, I don't think the foul on yao was phantom, but as usual coulda been called either way.

OTOH, the rockets got hosed on roy's shot. The ball was half way to the hoop on a very high arc when the red light went on. That was obvious, but the refs kept discussing because everybody knows that you can't catch, turn, jump, shoot, & get the ball halfway there in .08 seconds. They finally ruled it good, but I think they probably had to go by the light, or I doubt that they woulda counted it.

OTOOH, rockets loss good for mavs so I'll take it.

Add me to the list of people scratching their heads at how someone could do all of that in .8 seconds. From the replays I saw, the light didn't go on until the ball was in mid-flight, at least another half of a second, which makes the feat even more impossible. Listen to the horn...The Link

Regardless of time, TMac either blew the coverage or expected help up top which is absurd considering its the last play of a game.

It looked like the Rockets' D was supposed to be a zone switch.

You can see McGrady point at Alston (?) to switch off on Roy once Roy broke to the top.

You Rocket fans are bitching about 0.8 seconds? Derek Fisher could make the game winning basket, perform the post game interview, shower, and get on the team bus in 0.8 seconds.

I'm not a rockets fan, & I'm not really bitching. Just making an observation that the clock didn't start as soon as he touched the ball.

Also, that's right That's Right. (You gotta admit though that he couldn't have done it in .08 seconds)
I'm usually pretty good with numbers, but if that was a medication error, I coulda just killed somebody !!! Thanks for the heads up.

I wish it was a phantom foul. If it wasn't called, the clock wouldn't have stopped, and we'd be going into double overtime, where the Rockets would have won by a million points.
