Jimmer Fredette scores over 40 for BYU third time in 4 games and is averaging over 27 points to lead 20 - 1 BYU over 20 - 1 San Diego State, 2 great teams.

The 18 - 3 Horns hold Cowboys to 46 points at home, Texas has some tough road games remaining but if they keep playing defense like this Texas can be one of the Top 5 teams in College Basketball.

Kevin Durant scores 47 points and has 18 rebounds to lead Okla. City to a 1 point win over Minn and Kevin Love who had 31 points and 21 rebounds. One of the best basketball players ever to play went to Texas for a year.

The Spurs beat Utah in Utah with Deron Williams having a great game for the Jazz, the Spurs are now 39 - 7, only 5 teams in NBA history have won at least 39 games after playing 46.

The future of Longhorn basketball looks bright because great players want to come here because players like Kevin Durant came to Texas. Thank you Kevin.

I hate to say it because I know there are many spurs fans here, almost as many as cowgirl fans, but the spurs old age will catch up with them later on in the season when the playoffs arrive. I figure they will most likely get bounced in the second round. I'm calling it now.

Yes the Spurs could lose early in the playoffs and the Horns could lose early in the postseason also but as of today I like the Spurs and Horns chances if they stay healthy. Watching the Horn basketball team gives me increased hope for a very good football season coming up.

I agree with all of the positive comments. A lifelong Spurs fan here and how can anyone not love KD?

That Fredette dude is pretty amazing and it will be interesting to see him in the big dance. He obviously makes their team very formidable, but they have some good talent inside as well. Should be very interesting.

Do you austinites just root for the spurs because you have no pro basketball team? Just curious...must be the same reason you root for the cowboys also.

If you want to talk about old teams, look no further than the Lakers. The Spurs have done a great job getting young talent that actually contributes. As mentioned earlier, the Big 3 are averaging less minutes than any time in their careers.

I don't know how deep they'll go, but if they get bounced early, it won't be because of their age.

Dont forget Johny Moore. Mom would drop me off downtown at the Arena and i would watch the games and keep stats from high in the nosebleeds. I think the capacity was 15,901

horn fans in dallas are having a good hoops season too. hit a little bump in the road and trying to figure out how we can replace butler and get back to where we were - 2nd best in NBA and challenging yon Spurs. We should be a tough out...as will the Horns. Love the growth and maturity this year.

Hook'em!!!

Teasip please stop making us Houston sports fans look bad. Please, just stop.

LOL, I'm just curious as to the reason why Austin chooses to root for the teams they do. That's all. Must be tough not having pro sports in the city you live in. I know Houston teams are down but I'm a fan no matter what. I'm curious if Austin would be mavs fans if the spurs were down.

LOL, am I supposed to root for all things Texas? Its a huge state bro. Houston needs a winner. We've had nothing to cheer about since the rockets in the mid 90s. I know how Dallas fans feel. Its been just as long since their teams have done anything. I don't count the stars and hockey either.

Also, Teasip, I suspect that for most of us, you have to live in/be from Houston to pull for a Houston team. The Rockets and Texans just don't seem to have any cachet to interest the rest of us. Just my opinion.
