i wouldn't call it a gift. Give LSU credit. They deserved to win. That was clutch double with 2 outs in the 9th.

Southern Miss gave Texas a gift, walking in the winning run.

We hit a two out double with men on 2 and 3rd to tie the game in the top of the 9th.
I guess USC gave you a gift by letting VY score?

in our eyes it was somewhat of a gift in the sense that our pen was unusually wild meaning not throwing strikes, but that's the way it goes - you guys got the clutch hit and we didn't when we had chances late - hopefully we will bounce back tomorrow

LSU earned the win, just as Texas has earned every close win we've had this post-season.

And Texas will earn the win again tonight.

LSU had better closing pitching tonight. Our pitchers could not find the strike zone and were out of rhythm towards the end of the night.

LSU did have better closing pitching but I'd say we held our own against their ace. They are even saying Ott is done and will not be back since they worked him so much last night. if he comes back, maybe 1 or 2 innings in game 3 if needed.

there's a reason it went to the best of 3, we take game 2 tonight and it's anyone's game Wednesday.

Remember though, despite all the long balls, we still have not played a clean game in this series. Our pitching does it's job and our defense holds strong and we will be fine. We are playing the number 1 team in the country and expect nothing less than a dog fight.

I wouldn't call it a gift. They did have to score the run. I would say that we choked, making it much easier for them to do so. But that's baseball.

The lesson to be learned is that LSU is not the unbeatable behemoth that everyone wanted them to be. If our pitchers clamp down and get the job done, this is our series. They are just about out of arms. We aren't. Although, I agree it would help if our coaches would make better decisions in the clutch. Jungmann shouldn't have been anywhere near the bullpen last night. It's an act of desperation to use your game 2 starter as a closer in game 1.
