Which brands do you like? pros/cons

is it worth getting the seam sealant on the outside and inside of the suit?

any advice would be appreciated

using it to surf. have been now 5 or 6 times and have been renting, and think nows the time to make the purchase.

i've been recommended the o'neill psycho 2. supposedly it is the top of the line, so pretty expensive. any info on it, or other specific lines?

Where are you surfing? Gulf? Pacific? If you're surfing the Gulf, you won't need one between April and November. However, I would recommend buying one in the summer because you can find some good deals. I don't think a wet suit would be tax exempt durning Texas Tax-free weekend, though. That would be sweet, however.

If you're surfing Mavericks or Pacifica, you'll get use year-round. I can't really steer you any direction other than Rip Curl as that is all I have ever owned and I have been quite pleased.

I've always liked O'Neill... my spring suit, full suit and rash guards are all O'Neill.

i'll be surfing in san fran area. wetsuit required. ive surfed pacifica, santa cruz and stinson last week. i haven't used a rash guard, but after last week i'll be getting one along with the suit. neck is still rubbed raw (that was an o'neill, the only suit that has given me problems)

haven't hit mavericks yet, but i figure after one or two more sessions, i'll be ready for it.

Please send me pics! Mavs is always epic. Never did Stinson, though. There is a surf shop on that winding road leading back to Mavericks, but they are NEVER open. They are ALWAYS out in the lineup instead of selling me surf wax and T-shirts. I really like Pacifica, but on a big day is a dogfight to catch a set in the crowded lineup. BTW, did you hear about that older fella up at Bodega that set the record for most consecutive days surfing? He surfed every day for 10 years! He wanted to marry his girlfriend who went out there every day with him, but he couldn't marry her until he broke the record because only a non-family member can be a witness. 10 years they stayed engaged so he could set that record. Only a surfer can understand why those priorities are in line.
