Doesn't surprise me at all. The Westlake kids think the world revolves around them, and what they don't realize is that they're not nearly as rich as they think they are. They'd die in NYC prep type schools.

That's not the point of this, though. I understand high schools talk crap about one another, and maybe Socorro even "started" the rivalry, but the difference is the Westlake kids took it to another level throwing out racial and class level insults. No need for it at all. If you read the comments on the statesman article about it there are a few other teams who experienced the same types of racism and classism from Westlake during different sporting events.

Look, I know some very good people who grew up in Westlake, but Ive met my fair share of holier than thou, stuck up snooty Westlake kids too. Its just a fact of life in a wealthy upscale community that some of the kids there are going to think they own the world. Ive known both sides, but the pricks are definitely out there and they make the good, decent kids look bad.
