Western Conf Finals: Lakers vs Spurs

I think this is the likely matchup for the Western conference final. I think these two teams matchup fairly well, but I wanted to see what you guys think.

I think Gasol really rounds the Lakers out well giving them three legitimate options on offense in Bryant, Odom, and Gasol.

But I think that the core of the Spurs is too much. I think you throw Bowen, Oberto & the kitchen sink at Kobe and try to contain him. I think Duncan more than offsets Gasol, and I think Parker and Ginobili make the difference in the long run in a series.

I would think this match up would result in a Spurs win in 6 or 7.

Honestly, I am much more concerned about NO in the second round. West and Paul have absolutely killed the Spurs this year.

Please. The face rape of Memphis in the Gasol "trade", plus the coup Boston pulled over the summer, is going to give us Lakers-Celtics in the finals for the next 5-10 years. And Asia just released a new original-members album. Back to the 80's!

No one likes UTAH??? I think Utah can beat LA. In fact, I would predict a SA/UTAH werstern conf. finals.

Utah was creamed by LA at home and without Gasol. Series was 3-1 in favor of LA,

The Lakers are deeper than the guys you mentioned. Fisher is a very important missing piece for them this year. They also have a very capable bench that can put up points in a hurry and change the complexion of the game.

It's awfully early to start predicting anything in the west, with the possible exception of the Rockets - Utah series because of the home court situation..
