West Virginia - Thoughts?

Lots of stuff to do outdoors from what I understand. Greenbrier resort is supposed to be fantastic.

Has anyone been to W. Virginia for travel? Opinion?

place is the armpit of the nation. Greenbrier is the only redeeming quality, unless you're into white water rafting in the New River. But you can raft anywhere. i' ve been all over that state. entire place sucks.

It's extremely rural outside of Charleston. Very pretty, though.

Went to Morgantown last spring for a wedding. I knew it was going to be hilly, but after a while it gets a little mind-boggling. No flat land anywhere. I would get a little car sick when riding around. Not from going up and down hills but from just looking at the scenery. My mind kept searching for a flat place that did not exist.

Natural beauty is incredible. People beauty? Not so much.

I love it when people rag on WV. Ever been to rural Texas? The are pleanty of kind, smart, and nice people in WV. I have been there several times and could see doing some hiking, rafting, and a little pampering at the Greenbriar. Go and have fun if it looks interesting to you.
