West Virginia, Can They Go Deep?

I've noticed that some are touting West Virginia to go deep. They are a #6 seed in the Midwest and would possibly have to beat Dayton, Kansas, and Michigan St. to get the right to possibly play Louisville in the elite 8.

What do you think? Anyone picking West Virginia to go deep?

I expect them to beat Dayton, although it could be a track meet. Dayton runs on ever possession. Their major weakness is FT shooting. They can get to the line but can't knock 'em down. Dayton is so-so in the half court and could be hurt with WVU's zone.

I don't know about KU at this point. It would be a great game to watch, much more so that if they win and go against MSU. That game could be one of the ugliest of the tournament given Huggins' 1-3-1 zone and MSU's defense.

West Virginia has a good core in freshman Ebanks, Bryant, junior Butler, and senior Ruoff.

They've been to the sweet 16 3 of the last 4 years. I think it's going to be 4 out of 5.

I even have them in the Elite 8, losing to Louisville. Dayton's a winnable game, Kansas is a fading team from an average conference (plus, they don't get to play in Phog Allen East this time) and they'll win their sweet 16 matchup.

PS - Don't count out USC in that other side of that bottom half. They could just as easily KO Michigan State.
