West Campus redevelopment

People have noticed that Contessa and Madison House have both been knocked down. University Gardens apartments (where Gumby/Pluckers etc is) will also be knocked down next year.

The most interesting thing about the development is all the RETAIL space that's planned. Maybe West Campus will finally get a grocery store? (No, Wheatsville doesn't count.)

I used to live at Nueces PLace and my deck overlooked the pool area of the Hardin House units on the south side. Good times.

I lived at Neuces Place my junior year. Sometimes my boyfriend and I would see boys trying to climb parking poles to hop over the Hardin House fence.

the piazza navarone (or some such ****) is going in at 26th and san pedro, and The Texan is being built about 100 yards away from that, on san pedro.

i don't like this ****, it won't be the same west campus in another year or two, not to mention that there ALREADY isn't enough ******* parking over there as it is... now move in another few thousand goons and some retail shops and it'll be impossible.

hopefully they will at least have an application process to where you have to 'not suck' to be granted rights to live on west campus.

I got out at the right time when the neighborhood went to ****

University Gardens will be a parking structure, with some retail. There is more retail going in because its required as part of UNO.

Wow, I worked as waiter at Madison House many years ago and I heard of the Contessa coming down. Isn't that Nueces? Across from the Sigma Chi house?

I lived in the Contessa in the early eighties. I thought it was still fairly new at that time.

I visited the dorm website in more recent years with the idea of recommending the place for some younger relatives.

Too bad !

Anyone remember the dynamic duo of "Chisolm and Broussard" ? You have to have been a resident when I was there to know what I am talking about !
