and no parole on federal offenses, right? does the US gvt have a club fed type of easy, white collar crime prison or does he get thrown in with the wolves at levenworth?

yeah and apparently the feds were so pissed that they really pushed for the max sentence which was 3 years. Apparently not filing taxes for years while simultaneously demanding a 7 figure refund doesn't sit well with the revenuers.

To answer the earlier question, ther eis no parole in the federal system. You can get what is essentially "good behavior" time off, but it is limited to about 15% of the sentence.
Are far as the sentence, it seemed a bit excessive for a misdemeanor conviction. Looks like this is a case of "setting an example." That said, hard to feel sorry for the idiot.
I also seem to recall that the Survivor winner who got convicted for not paying taxes on his winnings got something like 4 years.

That's why he got hit with the big time - he was consciously avoiding the payment. He used the "federal income tax system isn't a valid system" argument, conspiracy theorist BS. He knew full well what he was doing.

I think he would have gotten further if he'd argued that he himself is a non-profit entity for the purposes of making badass vampire slayer flicks and advocating the choice of black over red, and therefore shouldn't be taxed at all.

yeah if i understand correctly, he chose not to file taxes, demanded a huge refund from previous years, moved money to out of country accounts, wrote a couple of hot checks to the irs, and then when caught claimed some semantics **** about the tax code saying that he is to be taxed for wages, but what he received was compensation so its not taxable. and then his slick lawyers got him off on the felony charges. thats why the 3 years for misdemeanors.

him is dumbass.
