The kid was a bigtime unknown late bloomer that was not heavily recruited at all. I believe he also went to a prep school because of grade issues.

Nobody really knows why he left ISU. He was hurt during his second year and decided to transfer after that.

Hindsight is 20/20. He was probably too obscure of a player for Rick to go after - also consider all the hype around KD that year. I guess I understand not recruiting another lesser known swingman with grade issues. Makes sense why he wasn't on our radar. You could definitely say he's one that got away.
