Well that's just damn interesting

When Coca-Cola began to be sold in China, they used characters that would sound like "Coca-Cola" when spoken. Unfortunately, what they turned out to mean was "Bite the wax tadpole".
 
Edison hated alternating current as the article states. That's also why we have the electric chair. Edison got NY to begin executing prisoners that way. His company dominated NY, while Westinghouse and Tesla were headquartered in Philadelphia. So Edison had a lot of pull in NY. Both the elephant and human electrocutions were to scare people about alternating current. AC won out anyway, as it works better in transmission over longer distances.
 
Pres Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy and Pres Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln.... or something like that
