Well damn..............

because of his arrest July 4th for misdemeanor assault.

I don't believe he was arrested July 4th.
Someone filed a claim that was investigated and charges were filed.
He turned himself in.

I was hit and knocked into a ditch once.
I barely kicked my door open in time to yell at my son (6'2", 220) and keep him from pulling the guy out of his car and pummeling him.
Emotions and adrenaline run high in these situations.

It's a misdemeanor charge so doesn't sound like much of a fight.
I'll wait and see what the full story is.

Now read the thread about Elliott and see if anyone else can connect the dots.

I think they were actually coming from a party with Elliot which has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
They were rear ended by a stranger.
And if Boyd lost his cool, what does that have to do with Elliot?
Is he in charge of Boyd's emotions and actions?

A Class A Misdemeanor is a serious charge. A DWI Second offense and Deadly Conduct are other examples of a Class A offense. Maybe not serious to a habitual offender, but a year in jail and $4000 fine would be pretty serious to me

Yea, that sounds pretty bad.
Still just one side.
Seems weird that Kris Boyd is tweeting pics of the accident and writing how "the angels" were with them and everyone is ok right after his brother pounded some guys face in.
same as I was thinking after reading new info...

lol moondog is all "this same thing almost happened to me once" and someone connected it to Elliott and now he's distancing all "one thing has nothing to do with another. i'm respectful of coach herman!"

Herman needs to be consistent in discipline. Unless I missed one, this is the first player assault situation for Herman and what discipline he decides should be consistent for future assaults regardless of player status.
I would like to see discipline decided by court outcome. If innocent, then reinstatement. If guilty of assault, then consistent discipline whether it is expulsion from the team or suspension.

The weed suspension debacle gave me pause.

Hopefully there is a consistent progressive discipline policy in place. Not being consistant in these matters leads to problems inside and outside of the program.

As for Boyd, I agree with Moondog, wait for the outcome.

If it's as bad as one of the articles said (eight unprovoked punches and a concussion), I'd prefer he be removed from the team, possibly with the option to rejoin the team next year, if he earns it. In the meantime, no scholarship, no redshirt.

Agree on the scholarship (although it would almost guarantee he would transfer to another Power 5 school); however, I don't think they can effectively take his redshirt away. He would still retain the ability to play 4 years.

You're probably right about the redshirt. I simply don't want us to do what OU did with Dusty Dvoracek, where he was "suspended" for a year, but in reality, he was redshirted. He gained a year of eligibility for beating a guy nearly to death.

Understand and agree.
