According to the latest Dave Campbell's Texas Football, 33 of the top 75 players in Texas signed with out-of-state schools. That's 46.7%.

So what's different?

Not that it changes much, but 33 is only 44% of 75, not 46.7%.

The difference is that we rarely lose a Texas player that we want. Our hit rate is probably 85% today.

Well, one main difference is that we are not splitting our share in less than half with A&M. Their fall and our simultaneous rise are not coincidental.
