Weird car problem UPDATE

My 94 Accord is making a loud pop or clunk when I brake. The weird part is it only happens when the vehicle reaches 5-10 mph and in a straight line. I don't hear the noise at all while braking at faster speeds or turning. The steering wheel doesn't wobble or vibrate when the clunk happens. After Googling, I found someone with a similar problem and the culprit was a cv joint. Anyone else have any clue?

Just once, or several clunks? Axles make a clicking or popping sound, but typically you hear it going around turns, on the side that has the weight transferred to it.
One clunk coulld be something loose, and the caliper or pads could be shifting. It could be minor, or it could be something affecting critical safety, so you should get it checked.
Sometimes a rock gets between the brake backing plate and the rotor, and can shift around, but it could also be something more unsafe.
Are the lug nuts tight?

Usually it's just one clunk. However, I've heard it twice during one long stop. When I get home, I'll turn the wheels and inspect the cv joints for grease. I had the tires rotated last month, so I'll also check the lug nuts. I'll report back tomorrow.

I checked the cv joints and the lug nuts. They were both fine. I drove around for several miles and could not duplicate the noise.

Usually two or three motor mounts would have to be broken to hear a clunk sound, and you would hear it more when shifting from reverse to first gear at low speed, than when slowing down normally in a straight line. If you hit the gas, then let off, and you hear a clunk, that could be motor mounts broken.
