Weiner's seat now, Republican

Whod'a thunk a district that has 3 dems for every pub, would turn Red?

This is clearly a rebuke of Obama and his economy. Reference the final sentence of the link below. If dems can't nail down this district, it's the death knell for B.Hussein Obama.

Hope and Change; Was fun while it lasted....No it wasn't.
The Link

The heavily Democratic district, which spans parts of Queens and Brooklyn, had never sent a Republican to the House. But frustration with the continued weak national economy gave Republicans the edge.

In a Congressional district carved out of the New York City Burroughs of Queens and Brooklyn, with a built in 3-1 Democrat advantage, the special election for Anthony Weiner's House seat went to the Republicans.
Prominent Democrats and Republicans alike attribute this loss largely to dissatisfaction with the job performance of President Obama.

If the Democrats are going to have be having problems like this in the big coastal cities in core urban districts like this one, then 2012 could be 2010 for Obama and the Democrats all over again.

Looks like the Jewish vote in the northeast is no longer a rubber stamp for Democrats. Obama is no friend to Israel.

Anybody who thinks Obama has a chance at winning re-election is smoking crack.

This is just another reason why I believe if the Democrats want to save themselves, they need Hillary to jump into the race now!

According to Debbie W Shultz, loudmounthpiece for the DNC there is no worry.
this is her spin
"Democratic party leaders insisted the loss wasn’t a harbinger of things to come. “It’s a very difficult district for Democrats,” said Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, noting its Democratic margins there tend to be the second lowest of all the districts in New York City.'

yea that's the ticket,

at least Shultz is consistent, she lies very well with a straight face. With a 40% jewis demographic, i imagine this was a slap against obama's israel policy.

I don't smoke crack and I think Obama has a chance of winning reelection…..but I sure hope he doesn't!

Democrats everywhere are downplaying this result, but they're full of it. If a party picks up a district it hasn't won in 90 years, that's huge. It is a political realignment in that district. It would be like a black, Muslim, openly gay liberal Democrat coming in and winning a congressional seat in a suburban, white, Christian district in the south. Regardless of their spin, it's a humiliation for them.

It may be true that the district will be eliminated in New York's redistricting (another example of the Democrats' downplaying of the result). However, this race suggests that the Jewish vote isn't blindly voting Democratic anymore, and that means the state of New York and its 29 electoral votes are at least in play, which hasn't been the case in 22 years. If Obama has to spend significant time and money to hold New York, he is in very serious trouble.

The funny thing is, 10 months ago Turner lost by what 20 points to Weiner?

This is strictly a Jewish thing, and Obama saying that they need to go back to pre-1967 lines is the trigger. I wish it was more of referendum on Obama but it is based on his jewish policies. He will make amends some time soon. Let's not celebrate too much.
