Wedding Venues in Texas

Looking for wedding venues in Texas. Prefer mansion/castle type venues that can hold at least 200 people. Also prefer venues that allow outside catering. All suggestions welcome and any "$ per person" info on the venues would be great. Thanks!

Check out the Barr Mansion in northeast Austin. A couple bought this historic old home and renovated it, and their business is renting it out for weddings and other meetings.
They have installed a commercial kitchen in a separate building for catering. Don't know if they allow outside catering.
Worth looking into.

The Dallas Arboretum is good. My twin brother was married there in the 90's. However (and this applies to all outdoor weddings) make sure the seating area has arrangements for weather. It was blazing hot for my brothers wedding and no shade for the guests.

Barr Mansion does not allow outside catering. Also, check out the place the time of day you might get married. Sometimes Barr Mansion can get the winds from the landfill nearby.

The Caswell House that is owned by the Junior League is nice.

Check out austinweddings.com for a list of more places.
Also look at Mansion at Judges Hill. Don't look at the Plantation House AT ALL.

I second Caswell House and the Laguna Gloria. Have attended weddings at each, and both are very nice. Caswell house may not hold 200, but I'm not certain of its capacity.

Green Pastures also may be a place you'd want to look into.

No way Caswell House holds 200 or even 150. We looked at them for our wedding and ended up doing it at the Alumni Center Connally Ballroom.
