Wedding Officiants in Austin Recommendations

My fiancee and I are getting married in Austin in December and are looking for any recommendations anyone might have for officiants.

Neither one of us are really religious, but both grew up in relatively religious households, so are looking for a traditional type wedding, but not one that hits you over the head with religous overtones.

We are living overseas right now, and my fiancee is British, so we don't have a true source in Texas for an officiant we have both known for a while and feel comfortable enough to have preside over the wedding, so are looking for recommendations for freelance officiants.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you considered having a friend marry you? We had one of my wife's close friends marry us and it was great. We didn't like picking out a stranger to marry us, and neither of us are very religious either so we didn't have any longtime church pastors or anything. My wife actually ended up marrying that girl and her husband this summer as well. They can get certified by the Universal Life Church online.

Brisketexan's wife does this.

I will send him a notice on this thread & he may PM you.

We also went the friend route. We didn't have a priest that we were close to or anything like that, so my best friend married us. We wrote most of the ceremony but included some traditional Christian elements as we are both Catholic. It was very cool to have someone close to us, that knew us both very well perform the ceremony.
