Cracks me up to see goobs wearing their college colors to HS football games. Guy shows up tonight to HS game with head to toe in crimson & cream paper clips.

Other colors most often sighted (in order of frequency): maroon, purple & "gold", cougar red (cougar high!), and sadly, burnt orange. Embarasses me every time I see burnt orange.

Gear like seat cusions etc, I don't mind so much. I'm cheap too. Use what you got. But matching cap, shirt, socks, etc? Really?

I don't have issue with young kids or college kids returning home for games wearnig college colors, but adults? No. Get over your selves. It's about the HS kids.

OK. Rant over. I feel better.

Head to toe college garb is strange. But wearing a Texas shirt...I see no problem with that.

Especially if we have a recruit or potential recruit on the HS team

I like to put on an OU t-shirt, gargle with vodka for about 30 seconds, and then hand out fake $100's to the players.

how bout instead of spending all your time being queer eye for the guy you watch the damn game because really its all about the kids right? You there to watch a football game or judge a fasion show?

All of my casual shirts have the steer head logo on them, so I wear a LONGHORN shirt everytime I step out of my house when I'm not going to work or church. And I know I'm not an IDOIT! More importantly, I could care less what another guy thinks about my fashion statement.

Wear you colors where ever you want. Most of my casual wear is orange as well, but I'm not going to wear it to a HS game. I wear school colors to support the team/school I'm there to watch.

Yes, if you show up to HS game looking like you're going to a game @ DKR, I'm going to

.

Your right to wear what you want. Mine to

I used to go to a bunch of high school games just to watch a good game. I wasn't there to support one team or the other, so I didn't have any school colors to wear, and I didn't want to wear orange. So I went just in shorts.

I'm not allowed within 500 feet of any schools anymore.

Our HS colors are maroon and white.

I absolutely, categorically refuse to wear our HS colors to the game. Of course, I don't make a point of wearing burnt orange to HS games either.

I wear high school stuff to college games and everywhere else, and will continue to do so until all my kids graduate. If they choose to play sports in college then I would probably switch to that school, not looking likely since my oldest hasn't even bothered to take any of the visits he has been offered.

So you wear what you want and let others do the same.

Can I wear a Texas cap to a Houston Astros game? Can I wear a Texas golf shirt to my kid's elementary school carnival or do I need to buy a Katy Elementary shirt to wear? I'll wear what I want to, thank you very much. Although I might be OK with it if you say people over the age of 16 shouldn't wear team jerseys, except possibly on game day.

Good correction, Cana. I should have said, "No male fan over 21 has any business wearing a UT football jersey."

Oh, please. Reading comprehension people.

I didn't say that I think people should only wear their college gear to a college game. I just think you're a goober if you feel the need to show your college spirit at a HS game (kids & college kids excepted) - or a NFL game (now that you mention it).

Just about any other context (gett'en groceries, do'en chores, lounging by the pool, going to dinner, walk'en the dog, pick-nicking, going to the office, walking the strand, playing a fiddle, go'en to meet your maker, . . .), I'm cool with college stuff. Actually, if you wear orange, I'd recommend it in about any other context!

I guess I have a unique sense of "context."

Oh, well. Knock yourselves out. Ya'll definitely don't need my permission. Just know that I'll be rolling my eyes at you, and thinking "what a goob".
