We signed 6 kids for MBB this week

So we signed 6 kids, to go along with the 5 freshman still on the team from last year.....+ Dick and Melchonini

That is 13, I thought there was a limit of 12 scholarships. Is either Dick or Melchoninin(sp) a walk on?

Men's basketball gets 13 scholarships. I think Women's gets 15. Dick and Melchioni are walk-ons, but may get a scholarship for next year if we don't sign anyone else.

I know scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis, but according to texassports.com, both Melchionni and Dick were awarded a scholarship prior to the start of the 2011-12 season.
