We Should Hope...

That each party nominates the best candidate available for the good of the country. Hoping that the other party nominates an idiot who will be beatable is, in my opinion, unpatriotic. Also, as people aligned with either party will attest, these "idiots" are not always beaten.

The parties generally give us bad enough choices and results without nominating their worst candidates.

I must say that I don't see anyone great on the horizon. Greatness seems to be a disqualifying factor early on in the political careers of those who would seek office in this money-ocracy we've created.

I'm disillusioned. Somebody hug me.

I don't think that Obama is the best Democrat, and I don't think that Romney is the best Republican. I am a little depressed about all of this inability to work together, and lack of selection amongst both parties.

Today the rating agencies warned the bi-partisan budget panel that should they fail to come together for a compromise, there is a high risk of further or additional downgrades to the US debt. That means entitlement cuts and tax raises- or else!

Romney's experience as governor of a very blue state should certainly encourage those that give high value to compromise. Obama is too far left and Perry too far right for the compromise types.
