We need a little levity right now...

No beans in my chili, thank you
So here's a lot of levity...

Why does the national media hate A&M so much? | TexAgs

They hate A&M because we are not Texas. They also hate anyone that tries to push their way into the blue blood conversation. The reason why they are more accepting of Clemson is because USC east isn't any good. So Clemson can represent that state.
Just my opinion there may be more history to this talking point that I am unaware of./QUOTE]

Because we're not historically a bastion of liberalism. Our liberal arts programs have not been as prominent as others. We excel in agricultural & engineering/sciences. Our history has deep military roots. We are a university with generally conservative values. All of the things the media are, we're not. IMHO/QUOTE]

And my favorite:

I've always thought that because A&M doesn't have a school of journalism there aren't many Aggies in sports media so Aggies get overlooked- the problem with that theory is Missouri has one of the best J schools in the country but look at their respect - who are the Aggies in sports journalism?/QUOTE]

No, the reason is because just watch a football game with an Aggie. End of story that will make your mind up quickly. The holier than now, and I’ve said this before I’m a Christian, the Ags I know display attitude/hatred vulgarity/ slurs...while watching a football game is apalling.
I say that about every Aggie except one, that being my nephew who actually walked on and made the Aggie team he’s the one Aggie i can actually sit through a game because he’s a really good kid and doesn’t hate Texas

Those are decent points the Ags bring up. Can't discount any of them.

Main reason though is their lack of championships. I think they have 1 since 1993 - the 98 B12 title. One title in 27 years makes it hard to place them in anything but the Miss State / Texas Tech level - can win some big games, but no threat to put a season together and win even a conference championship.

NR,

Some time back, A&M had a QB coach named Greg Davis from Groves, Texas. I went to few Aggies games when we were off or were the visiting team. On occasion, I would sit with Jim Duke or a friend, who was an Aggie in the high priced seats. I would sit there and call the plays before the Ags broke the huddle. Some of the old Ags were irate, using adult language because I was "stealing their signals". One old Ag, who was about 40 years my senior, jumped up and wanted to "beat the hell outa" me. Listening to the grumbling and excuses when they didn't win was hilarious. No matter who they played or which recruit they lost, it was always the t-sips fault.

How the hell was it our fault when Baylor grabbed a pick 6? Aggie logic at its finest.
