We made national news on the Today Show!

Just work up but the nightmare did not go away.

The humiliating loss was rubbed in on national news this morning. Shanka's loss is MUCH bigger than Strong's loss to Kansas.

CDC Cannot keep Smart.

Budgetary reasons and other issues regarding ethnicity will make Shaka the coach next season.
The humiliation of the first round loss with the focus of National TV coverage has done a lot of harm to the Texas brand. That loss was magnified by national coverage of a news episode this morning and a picture of an ACU player doing the 'Horns down on ESPN front screen.

Smart HAS to be fired now.

Thank Gawd hardly anyone watches the Today show. Who even knew that is still on the air?

If I was wearing a Texas shirt, and someone started telling me about seeing Texas on the Today show, after I quit laughing, I'd just give the person a Hook 'Em and walk away.

I am old!

This is what I said midway thru the season. We will lose talent, win around 15-17 games, maybe win the NIT or lose in the first round of the big dance and not have his contract renewed.
Just accept the NIT invitation now to give the players some hope and something to play for. Why won’t anyone listen to me!?!

Welp, as they say: all publicity is good publicity, or there is no such thing as bad publicity...

Abilene is a real easy place to recruit top flight basketball talent to. Ever been there? Ok, it is no San Angelo, but it is nicer than Big Spring and not way out there like Lubbock or Amarillo.

All we have to offer is Austin, with its many amenities and ostentatious self regard.

We are Texas and wealthy as Croesus and bold as Xerxes as big as Goliath and we just got knocked off by a bunch of little terriers from the mighty Southland Conference.

My son almost went to ACU. We took two visits, but they just wouldn't pony up enough scholarship money to offset enough of the $60k a year tuition. I really like the school and atmosphere up there.

Yup, the laughing stalk of college basketball. It does not sit well with me.
Tis true, but similar situation for football team last year was turned around very quickly. No one is laughing at Sark, Bijan, and our new recruits now.

It is not about the buyout money, nor any potential race issue of personnel, but rather the replacement. WHO?

When stevie patterson humped the puppy and killed the partnership with the city (I ain't saying ruining that was a bad thing), Chris had dumped in his lap the prospect of playing back in Gregory Gym. Chris got the new center built for FREE - all $325-350 million worth. Beats the hell out of partnering with the cretins on Austin city council. Then , Chris got the Moody family to pony up $150 million extra for the naming right. (Yes, same Moody family that has been funneling money to SMU for decades & that has the library at W&L named after them, but no money to Austin.)

Chris and the BMDs want that new arena opened with a splash, but Smart can't find the pool. I expect a quality coach for the first home game in Moody Center to open the season against a blue blood or maybe against Rick Barnes & Tennessee.
