The Ladies tried but couldn't pull it off in Austin.

Unfortunately in the Lone Star Cup Competition the Aggies lead 7 to 4.5 with 5.5 of their points being the women's sports. To win this year we need to sweep the Aggies in Men and Women's golf and tennis.

I don't want to ever be satisfied with finishing second to the Aggies in anything. Come on Horns! Fight and Keep this cup that we've won for three straight years.

Connie Clark should have been fired the day after Cat's career ended on the 40 acres w/o a National Championship!
 
I does hurt that CAT didn't get her NC at TEXAS. She needed more run support, but we just didn't have good hitters when she was here. If CAT had the hitters we had now, I think we could win an NC or two.

Connie should have done something to get good hitters while CAT was here.

Remember that CAT was also the one that gave the double to Wheatly of UCLA, which eventually lost the game for us. That was the play that ended CATs dream of an NC.

CAT was also ALWAYS placed in UCLA's bracket......that did not help either. UCLA has always been good and they had hitters and we didn't.

I don't think it was all Connie's fault. It was timing of recruits, being unlucky in brackets, and a great timely hit by a great player against a great pitcher.

I don't know why Connie started Barnhill instead of Denny. Even though Denny is not CAT, I think she is the better pitcher right now compared to Barnhill. Barnhill might be great in the future, but not now.
 
Texas women's teams have performed miserably against the Aggies, As of 4/9/07 the score is Texas 0.5 (Volleyball), Aggies 5.0. in the State Farm Showdown,

How did Texas get to the point where aTm dominates our womens sports teams? I'd start evaluating each program and each coach all the way up to the head of Texas Women's Athletics. This performance is just unacceptable.

We recruit the the finest athletes in the nation and those women should win against the Aggies. We need some coaching/attitude changes!! Get with it UT!!!
 
Everything is falling into place for the Aggie women this year.

It does look like we are going to lose the Lonestar Showdown to them, BUT....and that's a big BUT......nationally....it is not enough to be dramatic over it.

For example.....A&M won the indoor track title, BUT our women still beat them NATIONALLY!!!! A&M beat us in soccer, but we beat them in the tourney AND at their house to advance to the sweet sixteen and we ended ranked higher than them!!! I don't know if we are going to be able to repeat what we did in indoor track for outdoor track since Knight decided to go PRO, but I am sure someone will step up. REMEMBER we do no have the services of Destinee Hooker....an automatic 8 to 10 points!

The aggies are clearly a better team in Women's swimming, Women's basketball, softball, and should be better in women's track, but somehow we still manage to beat them when it counts.


It will take some time for the new coaches to get a grip....don't panic. Brackin has an excellent recruiting class coming in. Coach G will do a better job once she gets her recruits to Austin.

I am not sure what is going on with Bev and track. She gets really high quality athletes and they leave early!!! I am not sure if that is good or bad. Pat Henry is doing a really good job at A&M, though. I am not going to worry until they beat us consistently at NATIONALS....and that hasn't happened yet.

This year was the only year that A&M has finished higher than UT in swimming.

Bottom line: We haven't done well against A&M this year, but that doesn't mean they are better than us athletically.
