We lost a great one today

Red McCombs passed today. Great man. great businessman, benevolent, great friend to many, Outstanding Longhorn.

Too many exceptional athletes and leaders are passing away these days. I guess its my age, but it just seems so sad. Red McCombs was a Texan thru and thru.....and he left an amazing legacy at UT that will likely never be replicated.

Prayers for his family and close friends. Hook em.

i was lucky enough to know Red personally and was partners with him for a few years ago in one of his many businesses. He was just extraordinary on every way I think make a person great: honest, generous, hard working and passionate about the things and people he loved. RIP Big Red!

Clearly a man full of benevolence, concern for others, and charity. One of the biggest cigars at a University with lots of really big cigars.
