to 2d place in the Big 12, (9-6) 2 games in the loss column behind OU (8-4) with the Sooners coming to our place next weekend. What were all you guys/gals worried about? In Augie we trust.
I realized that sweeping Nebraska wasn't going to be a huge lift to our RPI due to the fact that they have struggled, but we started the weekend at #14. After each game we went up one spot. Today, without even playing, we are at #11.
As far as this week is concerned, we have a 2 game series against A&M Corpus Christi who holds a record of 13-22 with an RPI of #247. Unfortunately, granted we win this series, I believe we may drop because it hurts our SOS.
The good news is that OU has an RPI of #29.
Then next week our Tuesday game is against Rice (RPI #4) before we play the suprising KSU (RPI #39) in our weekend series. WTF is up with them anyhow?
So basically, the next 2 weeks are going to tell us a lot about how our team may set itself up for the Big 12 Tournament and beyond. I'm comfy with the offense as of late, and our pitching and defense is just rad as all get out (Though I didn't quite understand what happened in the 2nd DH game where we were cruising at 10-0 only to have them score 7 runs in 2 innings). Either way, despite OU's standings in conference, we are the team to beat given the way this team has come together.
K State is salty. We'll find out over the next 4 weeks - OU, Rice, K-State, Baylor, A&M - whether or not this is an Omaha-type team. Time to gird up the loins, boys!
Oh hell Nordberg, my 1st grandson is older than her. You got nothing to worry about son, from me at least.
I walked into the kitchen the other day and the whole family was there, kids, grandkids and all the adults in between. Momma looks at me standing there in front of everyone and says in disgust and embarrassment, "Daddy your zipper is down." Without missing a beat I retort, "Don't worry, what can't get up can't get out," as I proceeded to pour a cup of coffee. Should of heard them laugh, thought a couple were going to cough up a lung. I never even bothered to touch my fly.
