I am really glad that Christoph Waltz won best supporting actor for his role as the SS Officer in Inglorious Basterds. I don't remember ever seeing him in any movie or TV role before, but I kept telling my friends how much I enjoyd his character.

Agreed. I remember reading somewhere (maybe here) that Quentin T said that if he did not have the perfect person to play this role, he wouldn't have even made the movie.

That was an incredible performance. A well-deserved Golden Globe winner. I hope he wins the Oscar as well.

I, too, thought his performance was outstanding, but I distinctly recall that there were some on these boards who found it comical.

I remember thinking, as I watched the movie, that when he smiled, it was like watching a shark smile.
